Get Organized

My life may be a mess but at least I can attest to having an organized wallet......well most of the time.  I have discovered that having a wallet with multiple pockets and slots allows me to keep things straight.  I do occassionally have to rifle through to find that darn store loyalty card, but for the most part my goods are organized.  I have found my match with the longer style of wallets many of which can double as a small clutch.  It is so nice to not have to move everything into a separate clutch or lug around a huge handbag when heading out at night or for a quick errand.  I am even able to slide my cell phone and keys into a pocket so everything is together and secure in one place.  If you haven't tried one of these organizer/wallet/clutches, I highly recommend checking them out.

Finally Fall?

After an unusually warm fall, we can finally feel that the nights are getting cooler which means that it's time to put away those summer cardigans in favor of a light-weight jacket.  I have been anxiously awaiting the transition of seasons which opens up a whole new realm of outfit possibilities.  If your coats look as sad as mine do after being crammed in the back of your closet for 6 months, then I say it is time to check out the autumn jacket trends.  Pea coats, trench and leather just never seem to go out of style, and the military trend continues to pop up everywhere.  Here is a sampling of fall weight jackets I am lusting over…

Accentuate Your Assets

I am one of the few people who haven't gotten into the whole Mad Men craze.  We rented the first season on DVD but it just didn't catch on.  Maybe it was the fact that I was half watching and half working on my laptop and thus didn't get to fully absorb all the show had to offer.  With that being said, I am hooked on the Mad Men fashion phenomenon that has rocked the country.  In my mind, sexy yet sophisticated ladylike looks are always in fashion so think of them as investment pieces rather than trendy additions.  These 60s styles were huge in spring and summer and have continued into fall with heavier fabrics, layering pieces and accessories.  Remember that you don't have to love Mad Men to show off your femine side.

Chunky Knits

Chunky knit sweaters are touted as one of fall's hottest fashions.  This is one trend that I am happy to support as there is nothing better than a big comfy sweater that doesn't show off every imperfection.  I usually have an extremely difficult time finding cute yet unique sweaters but this year there are tons that fit the bill.  Try wearing a big sweater with skinny jeans/jeggings or layer the open versions over a dress or skirt.
